Leaving Kathmandu

So it is time to leave Kathmandu. The past week we have been visisting and relaxing in Kathmandu. More in later post. Sunday we are starting the overland journey back to Delhi. Our Flights are on the 13th and on this date, Kia and Myself go our separate way Kia back to London and the snow, and myself to Bangkok via Hong Kong and sun – sorry. We taking the slow road back to Delhi. We will be heading first to South Nepal and to Chitwan National Park – 3 days near the jungle so we can ride the elephants – then Lumbini – the birth place of the Lord Budha and then hopping through the Terai region to Mahendranagar West Nepa, on the border with India. We have given ourselves 10 days to get to Delhi.

As we head back to Delhi, I think it will be likely that I will be unable to update the blog, so this is the last post for a while. I am pleased to see the number of people leaving comments. I enjoy reading them. It great to see people using the blog to talk between yourselves. I am touched Léna that you have given up Perez Hilton for my blog. Your sacrifice is noted. Dr²G, it is not Stupples but Stupas.. The photo will explain better. Claire and Charlotte, indeed it is the Tardis, and Claire I am a big fan of the series. Martyn, we indeed have not left the UK. We are hiding in a hostel near Heathrow. Been there ever since you dropped us off. Just finding photos of India and Nepal on the Net. The photo is an original, taken by Kia in Pokhara. Anai can you send me your Email. Previously I sent email to your Agilent address. Ran, Thamel area of Kathmandu, where the vast majority of foreign stay and hang out does feel like little Israel. I have to say that I have not seen many comments from the some of the Boulogne and Evreux gang. Where are you guys? Don’t be shy.

I am hoping that in Bangkok, I will have better access to the Internet via WiFi hotspot. Eh I have a few Video to Upload and tryng to see to try not to rock from to side as I talk to camera. Technology.

So you all get a break from the reading so you all can get typing.

nice to get the posts, dan.

let us know when we can use your UK mobile number - seem to remember you saying it wasn't likely to work in India (so I haven't bothered trying!).

make sure you get pics of the elephant ride!

talking of which, how does an elephant get down from a tree?
it doesn't. it gets down from a duck ;-)

cheers, dave x

Thanks Dan. Safe travels back to Delhi. It'll be a great journey I'm sure. How long do you have in Hong Kong, is it just a refueling stop? Look forward to your next post and video.
Take care, love Claire x x

Hi Dan: Well as luck would have it --- you will probably be reading my 2nd (only) comment on your blog, in 10 or more days from NOW, when you will be in Bangkok.

Travel sounds exausting and unpredictable (unlike the Polish railways --- economical, efficient, punctual, clean, and free drink and nibbles with your reservation ---- but this is supposed to be YOUR blog !! --- you will all have to wait for mine).

You all seem to be colourful --- didn't see YOU in national gear though (get out from behind the camera more often please) --- and the colour of the food, etc., rivalled the technicolor of Tsippy's Israeli food in the earliest blog.

Just caught up with all the post Delhi arrival blogging --- with all the flash backs and flash forwards (reminds me of the Edith Piaf Biopic) --- very exciting, admire your energy !!

Nice weather? --- here we have had the first(early) frost of the winter. In the end we're doing the the Rome thing in mid January (but don't expect a blog).

Bon Voyage, Nisia Tova --- watch how you go.

Hi Dan !

Humm ok you were right, I'm a bit shy to write in english on your blog, but I'll make the effort to leave my first comment, and then I guess my shyness will be over !!!

But don't worry, I carrefully read all your posts and I dream on each photo !

I laughed a lot with the Kia's Paraglidding landing far away from expected ! :-D But I can understand it was not really funny for her and for you, maybe even a bit stressful.

Some news live from Kapp : we very often speak about your travel over the world during lunch time. Most of people don't understand english here, so they only watch photos lol. So I make a little résumé for them to understand what they see in pictures :-D .

By the way, Bougues Telecom's guy is quite nice ;-)

Take care !

Believe it or not I have never read a blog in my life or put on a posting, so I hope this works!
Hi Dan, it is great to read your travel diary (surprisingly witty, with some ace spelling mistakes!) and to see your photos. It all looks exhausting but fabulous. Kev says hi, as do the kids.
Take care and don't catch any horrible diseases (sorry, that's the mum in me coming out; I can't help but worry!).

lots of love,

Cheri xx
