Back in Bangkok - Silon & Siam Square

I left the rain of the lower south east Thailand behind - following a journey in a fridge, well it felt like it anyway - I am now back in Bangkok for a couple of days, a pit stop on the way to Chiang Mai in the North East of Thailand. I will then be squarely on the backpackers/tourist trail. Lets see how that goes. I am staying this time in downtime Bangkok in the Silon area. I have probably seen one of the nicest Starbucks - don't worry Claire, I have not visited any SBs, here they are certainly overpriced and anyway the coffee stands in Bangkok serve a great coffee.

What about the political situation in Thailand? From the lower south east to Bangkok, I have encountered no problem. They seem to be no tension on the street In the hostel, I have been meeting travellers who are now stuck in Thailand. A polish guy just been to his airline - his flight was meant to be today - they could not tell him when he would be able to leave the country. The protesters are not targeting directly tourist. Only inconveniences those that are leaving and arriving the country.

Dan,

You're looking more like Woody Allen every day!
