Si Phan Don - New Year among the Four Thousand islands of the Mekong. 30th December 2008-1st January 2009

As I am not managing to write much as I am making my way northwards through Vietnam, I thought I will tell the story of my travels from Laos to Vietnam by photos.

Starting with Si Pha Don - The Four Thousands Islands.

The Islands where beautiful. I spent the time on Don Khong, the largest Island and visited the smaller Islands of Don Det & Don Khon. It was New Year. Everybody was on Don Det/Kohn and not Don Khong. I spent New Year eve with Erik & Merdedeka, a dutch couple I met previously in Pakse. A nice quiet evening. I think we were the only 3 in the restaurant. At one point the cook went of dancing.
